Ingredients:
For the Dough
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (one packet)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg, room temperature
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
For the Cinnamon Filling
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 ½ tbsp ground cinnamon
For the Frosting/Dip
- 1 (8 oz) container Good Culture Cream Cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit 5 minutes, until foamy.
- Add the egg and melted butter, then mix in flour and salt.
- Stir until a shaggy dough forms, then knead by hand or mixer for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1 ½ hours, or until doubled.
- Mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon together to form a paste.
- Roll the dough into a large rectangle (about 12×16 inches).
- Spread the cinnamon filling evenly across the dough.
- Roll tightly into a log (like classic cinnamon rolls).
- Slice the log into 1-inch pieces, then cut each piece in half so you have small “bite-size” rolls.
- Toss gently into a greased baking dish or bundt pan, keeping them close so they bake pull-apart style.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes, until puffed, golden, and the centers are cooked through.
