Tunacado Sandwich

The viral sandwich you know and love just got a major upgrade thanks to Good Culture cottage cheese. Grab your favorite tinned tuna and mix with olive oil, lemon juice, and dill to create the perfect high protein base. We’re swapping the mayo for Good Culture cottage cheese to make a lighter version with even more protein. It’s packed with flavor and comes together in no time!

Servings: 2 Sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • 1 can skipjack tuna in water, drained
  • ¼ cup Good Culture cottage cheese
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 whole wheat flat bread
  • 2 tablespoons pesto of choice
  • 1 tomato thinly sliced
  • 1 medium avocado, finely sliced
  • ½ jalapeño cut into thinly sliced rounds

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the tuna, cottage cheese, olive oil, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Mix and slightly mash until well combined.
  2. Slice the flat bread edges off if round and slice in half and toast in the oven until slightly crisp.
  3. Spread the pestoon one half of the toasted whole wheat flatbread.
  4. Layer tomato slices, jalapeño slices and avocado on the pesto half of flatbread. Spread half of tuna cottage cheese mixture on the plain flat bread side.
  5. Fold the flatbread over and slice in half. Enjoy immediately!
